Willy González Cruz, known professionally as Redimi2, is a Dominican rapper, songwriter, and producer recognized as a pioneer of Christian hip-hop in the Spanish-speaking world. Born in Santo Domingo, he discovered rap as a teenager but struggled with drug use before a life-changing encounter with Christian faith in 1999. His testimony of redemption became the foundation of a musical calling dedicated to sharing the Gospel through urban music.
In 2000, Redimi2 released Combinación Mortal, identified by his official biography as the Dominican Republic’s first Christian rap album. Over more than 25 years, he has built an extensive catalog, including Operación Mundial, Pura Sal, 20/20, and Épico. His collaborations with Funky and Alex Zurdo led to the project UNO, which received a GMA Dove Award nomination, while “Be Alright,” with Evan Craft and Danny Gokey, earned songwriting recognition.
Through Redimi2 Records and the MC1615 movement, inspired by Mark 16:15, he continues to bring faith-centered messages to audiences across cultures and generations. His music blends hip-hop, reggaeton, pop, and R&B, addressing identity, freedom, and the transforming power of Christ. Alongside his wife, Daliza Contreras, and their daughter, Samantha, Redimi2 remains committed to using music, testimony, and family as expressions of his faith.
