Pastor Edwin Álvarez is the founder of Comunidad Apostólica Hosanna, one of Panama’s most recognized Christian congregations. Called into ministry in 1980, he has dedicated his life to preaching the Gospel, developing spiritual leaders, and expanding the reach of the Church. Under his leadership, Hosanna has established congregations throughout Panama and expanded into Latin America, the United States, and Europe, while supporting missionary efforts in Africa and India.
Recognizing the importance of education and communication in advancing the Gospel, Pastor Álvarez founded Hosanna Academy and Hosanna University, institutions dedicated to academic development and leadership formation. He also established the Hosanna Radio Network and Hosanna Visión television network, extending Christian programming throughout Panama and internationally. As a respected preacher and conference speaker, he continues to equip pastors and believers through international gatherings and ministry partnerships.
Beyond the pulpit, Pastor Álvarez has led humanitarian initiatives providing meals for children, medical outreach, addiction recovery support, and assistance for vulnerable communities. Hosanna’s prison ministry has also received recognition for helping incarcerated individuals prepare for reintegration into society. Together with his wife, Dalys Reyes de Álvarez, and their family, he remains committed to fulfilling his God-given vision of proclaiming Jesus Christ and extending the Church’s mission to every continent.
